If you have a hot tub, chances are that eventually your hot tub will require some sort of repair. While repairs are almost inevitable, there are ways to help prolong the life of your hot tub and keep the repairs to a minimum. Some may think that regular maintenance is time consuming and difficult but we have some maintenance tips that require very little time and only need to be done once every couple of months.

Clean Your Spa Filter- Calcification and minerals from hard water can clog your filtration system. You can clean your spa filter by simply spraying it with a garden hose. Be sure to clean the filter of any noticeable debris. You will also want to change out your filter once every couple of years.

Change the Water in Your Spa- Every now and again you should drain your spa and fill it with fresh water. This will help clear any detergent or other residues that may have accumulated over time.

Maintain Your Spa Cover- You should periodically clean and examine your spa cover for any signs of wear and tear. Again, you can use a garden hose to spray the cover and rid it of any debris but you will also want to use a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner to cleanse your cover. Any use of harsh cleaners such as bleach or alcohol will eventually cause your cover to fade and deteriorate.
